Glendale Little League Fall Ball

Extend your baseball season with our Fall Ball program! We offer players of all skill levels the opportunity to continue developing their baseball abilities in a relaxed, instructional environment after the regular season ends. Fall Ball focuses on individual skill development, position exploration, and building baseball IQ without the pressure of standings and playoffs.

Glendale Little League proudly serves the communities of Glendale, River Hills, Bayside, and Fox Point.

Registration Information

Fall Season: Registration opens early July and closes mid-August. Season runs from early September through late October, with games scheduled around fall sports.

Financial assistance available - no child turned away due to financial constraints.

Parent Resources

Fall Ball relies on dedicated volunteers to create a positive baseball experience!

  • Volunteer Opportunities: Coaching, team parent, field maintenance, scorekeeping
  • Equipment: Same equipment requirements as spring season
  • Weather Policy: Games may be played in light rain but will be canceled for severe weather

All volunteers undergo background checks and receive proper training.

Fall Tee Ball (Ages 4-6)

Building Fundamentals through Play

Fall Tee Ball offers K4 and K5 children (ages 4-6) a relaxed environment to reinforce baseball basics or introduce newcomers to the game.

  • First-Time Players Welcome: Perfect opportunity for new players to try baseball for the first time without waiting for spring.
  • Batting Skills: Extra practice time with the tee allows for more repetitions and quicker skill development.
  • Fielding Fundamentals: Focus on proper glove positioning and basic catching techniques without pressure.
  • Enhanced Social Development: Build friendships and teamwork skills with both new and familiar teammates.
  • Low-Pressure Environment: Emphasis on fun and learning rather than game outcomes.
  • Game Format: Weekend-only schedule with shorter games and no formal practices, accommodating fall family activities.

Development Pathway: Fall Tee Ball provides additional skill-building time that often accelerates readiness for Coach Pitch in the spring season.

Fall Rookies - Coach Pitch (Ages 5-7)

Developing Hitting Confidence

Fall Coach Pitch gives K5 and 1st graders additional hitting practice against pitched balls in a supportive environment.

  • Hitting Focus: More at-bats mean more opportunities to develop timing and contact against moving balls.
  • Fielding Experimentation: Try different defensive positions beyond what was available during spring season.
  • Position Rotation: Every player experiences all defensive positions, finding strengths and developing versatility.
  • Rules Reinforcement: Additional game experience helps solidify understanding of baseball rules and situations.
  • Spring Preview: For Tee Ball players moving up, experience Coach Pitch format before the more competitive spring season.
  • Game Format: Weekend-focused schedule with simplified 4-inning games and brief pre-game practice sessions.

Development Pathway: Fall Coach Pitch often results in significant hitting confidence improvement that carries forward to spring, potentially accelerating readiness for Machine Pitch.

Fall Rookies - Machine Pitch (Ages 6-8)

Refining Hitting Mechanics

Fall Machine Pitch allows 1st and 2nd graders to gain additional hitting experience against consistent machine pitching.

  • Hitting Refinement: Focus on specific aspects of hitting mechanics without spring season pressure.
  • Defensive Development: Extra work on proper positioning, backing up bases, and baseball IQ.
  • Tactical Understanding: Deeper comprehension of force outs, baserunning strategy, and game situations.
  • Team Communication: Practice verbal communication with teammates during live game situations.
  • Skill Advancement: For Coach Pitch players moving up, experience Machine Pitch before spring evaluation process.
  • Game Format: Weekend-focused schedule with 4-inning games. Score kept but standings not emphasized.

Development Pathway: Fall Machine Pitch often results in more confident, prepared players who transition more smoothly to Minors with player pitching in the spring.

Fall Minors League (Ages 9-10)

Developing Pitching Skills

Fall Minors offers 3rd and 4th graders a valuable opportunity to develop pitching skills and hitting against live pitching.

  • Pitching Opportunities: More players can try pitching in a low-pressure environment with relaxed pitch counts.
  • Live Pitching Hitting: Additional at-bats against live pitching accelerate batting development.
  • Position Flexibility: Try defensive positions that might not have been available during spring season.
  • Strategic Understanding: Learn the "why" behind various game situations and decisions.
  • Spring Preparation: For Machine Pitch players moving up, experience live pitching before spring evaluations.
  • Game Format: Weekend-focused 5-inning games with umpires. Modified rules emphasize development over competition.

Development Pathway: Fall Minors often produces more confident and skilled pitchers and hitters who are better prepared for spring Minors or Majors advancement.

Fall Majors League (Ages 11-12)

Fall Majors gives 5th and 6th graders extended opportunities to develop advanced pitching, hitting, and defensive skills.

  • Pitching Development: Experiment with different pitch types and improve location in a low-pressure setting.
  • Situational Hitting: Practice specific hitting approaches and techniques beyond what spring competition allows.
  • Defensive Versatility: Play multiple positions to develop all-around defensive abilities.
